Trump’s $100,000 fee for H-1B worker visas challenged in lawsuit

A coalition of unions, employers and religious groups filed a lawsuit on Friday seeking to block US President Donald Trump’s bid to   impose   a $100,000 fee on new H-1B visas for highly-skilled foreign workers. The lawsuit filed in federal court in San Francisco is the first to challenge a proclamation Trump issued two weeks ago announcing the fee as the Republican president moves to further  restrict immigration  to the United States. Plaintiffs include the United Auto Workers union, the American Association of University Professors, a nurse recruitment agency and several religious organisations. They argued that Trump’s power to restrict the entry of certain foreign nationals does not allow him to override the law that created the H-1B visa programme. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson in a statement said Trump’s administration engaged in lawful actions “discouraging companies from spamming the system and driving down American wages, while providing ce...

Pakistan Pitches New Arabian Sea Port to the United States

Pakistan is courting the United States with an ambitious proposal to build a new deep-sea port on the Arabian Sea, aiming to strengthen its economic ties with Washington and diversify its strategic partnerships beyond China. According to diplomatic sources, the port project is being presented as an alternative to Gwadar, which is heavily influenced by Beijing under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The proposed site is believed to be Pasni, Balochistan, a coastal city strategically located between Gwadar and Karachi. Pakistani officials argue that the new port would serve as a gateway for mineral exports, particularly from the country’s rich copper and gold reserves in Reko Diq and other Balochistan mines. With global demand for critical minerals rising, Pakistan hopes the project will attract American investment and align with U.S. efforts to secure supply chains outside Chinese influence. The initiative comes at a time when Islamabad’s relations with Washington ...

Gaza Conflict / Palestine–Israel

Hamas has officially responded to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace proposal regarding Gaza. According to reports, the group has accepted several of the points outlined in the plan, while leaving room for further negotiations on the remaining ones. This response has been described by international observers as “positive but conditional,” opening the door for potential dialogue after months of devastating conflict. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has publicly called on Israel to immediately halt its airstrikes on Gaza, stressing that continued bombardment would undermine chances for a ceasefire agreement. Despite his appeal, Israeli forces have carried out fresh air raids on several areas in Gaza, leaving dozens injured and worsening the humanitarian crisis. The situation has triggered a wave of international reactions. In Europe and other parts of the world, solidarity with Gaza has grown significantly. Large-scale protests have been organized, particularly after the i...

Knife & Vehicle Attack — The New Face of Hatred

Last night, a horrifying incident reminded us that terror and hatred often disguise themselves in the form of sharp knives and speeding vehicles. An attacker first struck with a knife, then drove recklessly into crowds — a deadly combination, fueled by pure hatred. This was no accident. It was a calculated assault, backed by extremist ideology and a network of hate. Anyone who turns hatred into a weapon becomes an enemy of humanity itself. What must be done by the government, police, and judiciary: Swift arrest of the attackers A crackdown on hate-driven ideologies Justice for the families of victims Raising public awareness that hatred only leads to destruction When the blade of a knife and the speed of a car collide, fear spreads quickly — but we cannot let fear paralyze us. Instead, we must confront this face of hatred head-on. A cry for humanity: Hatred, from any side, is a crime. It should not see religion, race, or nationality — only humanity.

UK will leave ECHR if Tories win election, Badenoch says

UK will leave ECHR if Tories win election, Badenoch says 6 hours ago Sam Francis Political reporter Share Save PA Media The Conservatives will take the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) if they win the next election, Kemi Badenoch has announced. The announcement comes after a review by the Conservative party's lead lawyer found staying in the ECHR blocks migration reform and leads to the persecution of military veterans. Last year Badenoch said leaving the treaty would not be a "silver bullet" for tackling immigration, but on Friday argued the move was necessary to "protect our borders, our veterans, and our citizens". Labour said the Conservative leader had adopted "a policy she argued against" because she is "too weak to stand up to her own party in the face of Reform". The announcement on the eve of the party's conference in Manchester will settle the party's position   following months of internal divis...
